In what was ultimately a day of rest intended to help us get caught up on sleep and school work, I spent my afternoon preparing and executing an interview for a position with the Peace Corps. As my friends enjoyed the sunlight while they journaled and shopped at the market, I wore business casual clothes inside of my hotel room.

At its core, Traveling is about going to another place. Especially in crossing international borders, it can be easy to forget about the daily activities and routine that you might be used to back in the place you call home.

My interview with the Peace Corp was a dream come true - the next step in gaining an invitation that I have looked forward to for much of my life. Even more than this, though, it was a reality check. It reminded me that life back home goes on. The life that I was living in Tunisia was temporary. At the end of it all, for better or for worse, I would return home to the United States. Traveling is a real privilege.
